A correct diagnosis is necessary for the appropriate treatment approach. During your first visit, a comprehensive oral examination will be performed. This includes assessment of your teeth, gums and fillings (if any). X-rays are usually required to observe the bone level around your teeth.
Gum recession can happen for a number of reasons, including gum disease and overzealous brushing. If your teeth appear to look longer or have become sensitive, please book an appointment with us to recover your smile.
Dental implants can provide natural-looking and close functional replacements for teeth that are lost. Implants can be used to support a single crown, a bridge or an over-denture abutment. Dr Edwin Goh will evaluate and advise on the most suitable procedure following a detailed consultation and a 3D X-ray.
Spanning over a few visits, this treatment cleans the root surfaces to remove bacteria plaque and tartar. Non-surgical periodontal treatment is the least invasive and most cost-effective treatment approach. Adjunctive measures such as systemic antibiotics, probiotics, or local delivery antimicrobials may be recommended as needed.
Surgical periodontal treatment may be recommended upon the completion of non-surgical treatment to further improve the gum condition. For long term stability, the bone and gingival tissues should wrap around our teeth snugly to prevent bacteria from accumulating under the gums.
A crown may be indicated for a tooth with cavity, or after root canal treatment. A crown is similar to the tooth wearing a helmet. However, due to severe loss of tooth structure, the crown may have insufficient tooth structure to grab onto and would therefore dislodge easily. Crown lengthening aims to expose more sound tooth structure by ‘pushing’ the gums downwards.
Gingival recession, or longer teeth, can occur due to over-enthusiastic brushing or periodontal disease. Due to difficulty in keeping receded areas clean, further recession and bone loss may occur. Gingival graft can be used to reduce recession and prevent further bone loss. In addition, it may reduce tooth sensitivity and improve aesthetics.
Do you feel that too much gums show when you are smiling or that your teeth are very short? Aesthetic procedures such as aesthetic crown lengthening may be able to help you. Excess gum is removed during the procedure and the gum line refined to improve your smile.
A bright and healthy smile goes beyond the picture-perfect pearly whites! It is also important to have strong and healthy gums to prevent bad breath, gum pain and most importantly, keep our teeth in place. Healthy gums and overall health are also closely intertwined.
Gum diseases can lead to sore and painful gums. Find out what are some common signs and symptoms, and how to best prevent gum diseases.

I would like to commend Dr Edwin Goh for his superb skill and gentle care I received during my tooth implant surgery in April 2021.
Before the onset of the tooth implant surgery, Dr. Edwin Goh explained the tooth implant procedure very clearly and well. He ensured that all my questions were answered. During the procedure, Dr. Edwin Goh is very skilful and gentle as he went about each step of the process that I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort during the surgery.
After the tooth implant was completed, Dr. Edwin Goh gave me the instructions on the post op care and what I should do to keep the gum and tooth cleaned. With an X-ray taken, Dr Edwin Goh showed me how the titanium implant is secured in my tooth bone. This is awesome! Everything was done with excellence.

Our gums can tell us a lot about how our body is doing. The more we pay attention to its colour and texture, the sooner we can tell if there is a problem and that it is time to pay a visit to the doctor or dentist.
